Kingsway Deli Vancouver is a small little Vietnamese market serving banh mi subs, deli, cooked foods, dessert drinks.
We were rushing back to Coquitlam, after a much eventful day of shopping and eating at Café Medina (click) and Le Marché St. George (click). We needed a little snack to bridge the gap between fellowship and a late dinner at 9pm.
Logistically Kingsway Deli was on the way home. Initially I wanted to get #4 Banh Mi Ba Roi but Dave said Red Wagon’s would’ve been a better choice. So we settled on #8 Banh Mi Thit Nuong (Vietnamese Sub Grilled Pork) to share.
The sandwich itself includes a good filling of grilled pork, cilantro, jalapenos, pickled carrots and radish.
The bread itself was had a nice crusty texture. The pickles itself requires more pickling and flavour. The grilled pork itself resembled some seasoned dry cardboard – it was tough, chewy at times, and somewhat too salty.
If you are in hurry like me or a poor student needing something quick to filled the void but don’t fancy a fast food burger, Kingsway Deli is not a bad choice for $4. They have a pretty good selection of Vietnamese sandwiches available in about 5 minutes time.
