Would you believe me if I told you pigs could fly? But they do in Yaletown, Vancouver! This piggie, The Flying Pig Vancouver Yaletown is one of the gems. A boutique restaurant that serves brunch, whips out a mean Caesar, and offers not just something off your porky friend.
“Nouveau Canadian Bistro”. The Flying Pig is rustic with an open kitchen concept, long tables, high tops and some bar seats. It is low key yet classic. I love the wood furnishing. Note to self: I need a well made wood dining table at home also.
Organic Fruit Smoothie: Seasonal fruit of the day was blueberries. Rich and creamy goodness that isn’t too sour or watered down.
Pulled Pork Benedict with Chive’s Dijon Hollandaise & Sour Dough Bread $13: Mouth watering melt in your mouth pulled pork topped with soft yolk. Adding a hot dash of dijon gave this boring hollandaise sauce new life. It brought out the flavours of the egg and the well seasoned shredded pork. Comes with a spring green salad.
Pork Cheek Macaroni with Artichokes and Tomato Cream $13: Al dente pasta with some creamy tomato sauce that wasn’t too heavy. Generous portions of pork bites and artichokes.
So do you believe me now that pigs do fly? Perhaps you’d also believe me if I told you the Earth was squared? Just remember, to come here early or you’ll be waiting 2 hours for a seat. First comes. First Served.
